      | | The anniversary of the Enthronement of Alexy II, the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia[10.06.2004]On June, 10 it was14 years from the date of the Enthronement the Russian Orthodox Church Head - Alexy II, the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia. This year celebrations in honour of the 75th anniversary of His Holiness’ birthday were put off till that day.  On June, 10, on the Enthronement day of Alexy II, the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, the Head of the Russian Orthodox Church conducted Heavenly liturgy and the thanksgiving service in the cathedral of Christ the Savior.Hermann, Metropolitan of all America and Canada, the Head of the American Autocephalous Orthodox Church; Lev, Archbishop of Karelia and All Finland, the Head of the Finnish Autonomous Orthodox Church; Vladimir, Blessed Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine and other members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, the council of bishops of the Moscow Patriarchy, representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches participated in the worship service. About 130 bishops participated in committing the worship service. Representatives of the Russian Federation public authorities, the Moscow mayoralty, workers of diplomatic representations of foreign states in the Russian Federation, public figures, scientific, cultural, and art workers came to the cathedral of Christ the Savior to congratulate the Most Holy Patriarch Alexy. Vladimir, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine warmly congratulated His Holiness from the Pleroma of the Moscow Patriarchy after the end of the thanksgiving service. Vladimir, Metropolitan of St.-Petersburg and Ladoga read out the Message of greeting of the Russian Orthodox Church Holy Synod concerning the 75th anniversary of Alexy II, the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia. Clement, Metropolitan of Kaluga and Borovsk, Administrator of the Moscow Patriarchy, read out the Decree of the Holy Synod about decoration of the Head of the Russian Orthodox Church with a newly established order of St. Prelate Alexy of 1st degree: “The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in acknowledgement of his works and in commemoration of the 75th anniversary from his birthday asks His Holiness Alexy II, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to accept the Order of Prelate Alexy, Metropolitan of Moscow, 1st degree”. Members of the Holy Synod handed the award, and also presented an icon of the Holy Mother of God with prelates of Moscow standing before Her, a panagia and a cross to the Most Holy Patriarch. Protobishops Vladimir Divakov, Michael Ryazantsev and Leonid Roldugin congratulated His Holiness on behalf of the Moscow clergy and presented the Patriarchal token to the Primate. After the end of the worship service in the cathedral of Christ the Savior Alexy II, the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia handed church awards to a number of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church. In the evening on June, 10 there was an official reception for visitors and participants of church celebrations in connection with the 14th anniversary of the Enthronement and the 75th anniversary from the day of birth of Alexy II, the Most Holy Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia.
